NOOIT MEER VECHTEN (2000)

The fact that a knight likes to go to war is a good thing for his wife. She can then put aside her embroidery and lower the bridge to the crowd of lovers. Until the day he returns home for good, her husband. Tired from many battles, he wants to retire. Time for his son to take over as his successor.
A bizarre marital quarrel ensues over the boy’s head. He must prove himself a knight, but what can you expect from a boy who still pursues fantasies while on his tricycle?
How do you turn a naive boy into a tough man who mounts his horse, takes blows, defeats dragons and marries a maiden in passing?
When the son nears the end of his mission, it is time for his mother to step in and secure her territory.
With this performance, Gajes offers the usual mix of danger and humor. NOOIT MEER VECHTEN is a true open air performance, a King’s drama with spectacular visuals.
A fire-breathing dragon, cannon shots and the collapsing castle are surprise elements. We play on stilts and of course there is the devil’s tricycle.
